» Before you start your training

If your application is successful and you can do a vocational training at one of our companies, you will receive a vocational training contract.

Dual vocational training in Germany is also possible for people from third countries without age restriction.

Before you can start the vocational training following things are necessary:

A Visa

You have to apply for this at the responsible foreign representation in your country of origin.

Training contract

The basic requirement is an existing signed training contract + the priority check of the Federal Employment Agency.

Language skills

Proof of German language skills at least at level B1 (ALTE). Furthermore, you should familiarise yourself with the basic manners for the respective professions for which you are applying.

Health protection and livelihood

For the duration of your vocational training, you are generally required to have statutory health insurance and to prove that you can finance your own living expenses.

Residence permit

You need a residence permit for educational purposes. You can find out when and where to apply for this from the foreign mission you are contacting about the visa.

Note: A valid passport is especially important for the exams.

Arrival in Germany

Your company will pick you up from the airport/train station and assist you in seeking accommodation, enrolment with the authorities and the institution in Germany.

3. Step

» During your vocational training

During the training, you will live in a place close to your training company. Where the vocational school is located depends on the training occupation you choose.

You will continue to improve your german. For this, you can also make excellent use of the community with the other trainees as well as the colleagues. You can find out about some of the things you can do and experience in Germany on the "life" page.

4. Step

» You have successfully completed your vocational training

After your vocational training, you will receive a certificate from the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK), which is then recognized worldwide. With this certificate you are a professional and you can be employed as a professional worker by a company. As a skilled worker you earn more money than during your vocational training and even as an unskilled worker.

As a trained specialist, you will receive a residence permit for 2 - 3 years and can then apply for an "unlimited" settlement permit.
